Apple Clusters

Combine the goodness of dehydrated apples with brown sugar, butter and vanilla to create a crunchy and delicious treat for friends and family.

Ingredients

Apple Pieces:
3/8”: 6 cups
Brown Sugar
1 cup, packed
Butter, cubed
1 stick
Corn Syrup
¼ cup
Vanilla Extract
1 ½ Tsp
Baking Soda
½ Tsp
Salt
1/3 Tsp

Mixing Directions

Preheat oven to 300°. In a microwave safe bowl, add the brown sugar, butter and corn syrup. Microwave for 2 ½ minutes until the sugar is melted and corn syrup is bubbly. Stir contents to a thick consistency. Stir in vanilla, salt and baking soda. Microwave for 20 seconds or until mixture begins to foam. In a large bowl, add the syrup mixture to the apple pieces and mix by hand until all apple pieces are evenly coated. Dump the mixture onto a parchment lined cookie sheet; spread it out to an even thickness. Bake uncovered for up to 20 minutes. Then reduce temperature to 225° and bake for up to 35 more minutes. Remove cookie sheet from the oven and transfer the apple cluster and parchment onto a cooling rack. Allow 30 minutes to cool; then break up the apple cluster mass into smaller bite sized pieces.
