Although known for its cultivation in New Zealand, the kiwifruit is a berry that originated in eastern China. It is ovoid and is roughly the size of a chicken egg. The kiwi’s flesh is famously green to golden with a unique texture and plenty of black seeds. Kiwis have a sweet, tart, pleasant taste. Their fuzzy and brown exterior is edible, but very tart. Kiwis are particularly high in vitamin C and rich in other vitamins as well. The antioxidants and vitamins found in kiwis benefit heart-health and immunity, and their soluble fiber stimulates a regular and healthy digestion.
